Marine Debris Technician II

A.I.S., Inc. (AIS) is a national scientific services firm supporting maritime activities requiring certification of compliance with environmental regulations as well as collecting data for use by Federal, State, Municipal, and other government agencies along the US coastline.

Primary Function:

A.I.S., Inc.is seeking up to five (5) Marine Debris Technicians (seasonal) to support the NOAA Marine Debris Project (MDMAP) in conducting large-scale underwater and shoreline derelict marine debris removal operations across two regions spanning from the Canadian border to Provincetown, Ma. . Employment is approximately X months in duration, planned for xx/xx/2025 – xx/xx/2026 (tentative). The technicians will support NOAA MDMAP in all phases of the field operations from field equipment preparation (small boats, outboard motors, safety equipment, survey equipment), fieldwork execution, field work demobilization (including marine debris transport and disposal), and equipment servicing and repair.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Compensation: Candidates will be paid an hourly rate to be negotiated and total compensation will vary depending on candidates’ depth of experience. This is a full–time position. AIS benefits package includes health and dental insurance, vacation, sick and holiday benefits.

Travel:

100% Travel is anticipated

Required travel across multiple sites to conduct transect surveys. Travel will be determined by a survey schedule.

Location:

Technicians will support 2 regions including the Canadian border to Provincetown and Provincetown to North Carolina.
