Fisheries Liaison Officer - Multiple Offshore Locations

A.I.S., Inc. (AIS) is a national scientific services firm supporting maritime activities requiring certification of compliance with environmental regulations as well as collecting data for use by Federal, State, Municipal, and other government agencies along the US coastline.

Primary Function:

AIS is seeking Fisheries Liaison Officers to monitor, document and report commercial fishing activity during offshore surveys and construction. The liaison will serve as the primary point of contact between commercial fishing vessel representatives operating in the survey area and the survey team. The goal of the liaison will be to mitigate and document any interaction between the survey operations and commercial fishing operations. Trips will last up to 4-6 weeks. Survey vessels generally range in size from 120 ft. length overall to over 300 ft. length overall. Observation information and communication will be documented electronically on approved data sheets and summarized in daily reports. The liaison works approximately 12 hours per day with the possibility to be on call at night when needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Compensation: Candidates will be paid an hourly wage to be negotiated and total compensation will vary depending on employee’s experience. Equipment will be provided. This is a full–time temporary position, however employees will be eligible for benefits once full-time eligibility requirements are met. Meals and lodging provided on vessel.
